Hi, I wasn't sure exactly where this should go. I was reading a review once that said something about cops chasing you and that it was poorly implemented.
I thought it sounded cool, if they chase you that's enough for me. But now I have WR2 and it's kind of weird how whenever you hit a cop or any emergency vehicle for that matter that their flashing lights and sirens turn on but they dont chase you or drive faster or anything.
Is there anyway to get them to actually chase you? Maybe this should be implemented in a patch (unless it would take a lot of coding). What's the point of there even being cop cars if they don't actually chase you?

Hello NFS Chaser.
Can you give us the link to the statement which said that WR2 has chasing cops?
It was never, absolutely never said from Synetic, that cops can chase you. The cops only activating their sirene for 30 seconds if somewhere an accident happens but they are not able to chase you.
I think an implementation of code that cops can chase you will never happen for WR2. Synetic stopped developing any Patch because the bugs are completely fixed (except really minor ones).
So thats why they're lights and sirens turn on when you hit them. It's just if I were a cop and I saw an exotic speed by me at 200 mph I would do something about it lol.
In one review it says something about cops chasing you and a couple screenshots from Synthetic give you the impression that cops do chase you.
I'll try to find the link for the review. How would I go about making the cop cars faster though so that if you do hit one it would kind of give the impression they're chasing you though.
I've looked at the performance files for the cop cars but they look really complicated.
Maybe if Synthetic make a World Racing 3 they should consider cops chasing you in some way.

Police cars are part of the traffic, they behave exactly like any other traffic car except for the siren. Chasing cop cars would require "active" opponent police cars, totally different AI code.
Traffic AI = dumb, opponent AI = smart
In an early state of traffic development the police changed its route to the location of the accident and switch their light on.
It turned out, that in most cases the new route would take to long to reach the accident, because traffic cars can't do U-turns and have to drive around the block.
So, I skipped changing the route and only the lights remained.
